FLINTON — Add another memory to the Alli Campbell scrapbook.

Campbell, Bellwood-Antis’ star girls basketball player and the leading scorer in Blair County history became the all-time leading scorer in District 6 history with 25 points in a 74-37 win over Glendale Monday night.

“This record is even more amazing because the kids that held it was so good,” B-A coach Jim Swaney said.

Campbell needed 19 points to set the record, and she finished with 25 points as the Lady Blue Devils improved to 16-0 overall.

Campbell, who’s headed to Notre Dame on a basketball scholarship, passed Lewistown’s Krista Gingrich (1994-1998), who totaled 2,675 points in her career. After leading the Lady Panthers to back-to-back state championships, she attended Duke on a basketball scholarship.

“Krista is the best player I ever coached against,” Swaney said. “Alli and Krista have so much in common. Both were always working at their game, striving to be the best. When you look at the quality of players at the top of the record books in Alli, Krista and Karson Swogger, that is truly elite company.”

Campbell is now at 2,682 points. B-A alum Karson Swogger is third (2,520), followed by Marion Center’s Mindy Young (2,333) and Philipsburg-Osceola’s Halle Herrington (2,331).

“Alli handles her success really well and she absolutely deserves every accolade that comes her way,” Swaney said.

Sakeria Haralson added 17 points for Bellwood, which led, 30-11 after one quarter and 52-22 at the break. Emilie Leidig added 10 points.

The Lady Vikings (11-6) got 12 points from Olivia Reese to go with 10 points from Hannah Noel.
